Trimming the crusts

At some point in our lives we all wanted our toast or sandwiches with the crusts trimmed off. We preferred the soft, chewy insides of the bread to the relatively crispy outsides. As we get older we learn to appreciate, and look forward to, the differing texture and taste of the crust at mealtime.
It's much like how we learn to appreciate life as we mature. The varying degrees of life create "crusts". Without these layers of adversity we cannot fully realise the doughy comfort of our inner circle - the unconditional love and support our family and our friends.
