Are you a I'll go with whatever is on the menu as opposed to what you really want? Maybe you want chicken kebabs with fried plantain and baby spinach as opposed to the standard baked potato and caesar salad. As we all know, ordering a la carte takes a little more time to prepare (and costs a little more) if we are willing to wait for what we really want.
Most of my life I have ordered off the menu. The standard, known, comfortable, whatever is available now menu...at restaurants and in life. I do not really care for that sofa, but it is stock and I do not wait another 6 weeks so I will take it...and be disappointed with my choice for the next few years. If only I waited those 6 weeks. Unfortunately, this carried over to more important aspects of my life. You know the story...you meet someone whilst going about your everyday life who is nice and comfortable and easy going, not exactly your Mr Right, but Mr Close Enough. There are little things that do not sit well with you, but your tell yourself you are looking for Mr Perfect and perfect does not exist. WRONG! The little things become big things as time wears on. There is no Mr Perfect, but there is someone who is right for you. You need to know what you want and wait for it.
I no longer take what is in stock or what is available. I am with Bridget Jones on this one. I am looking for something more extraordinary than that - I wait for I want.
